My journey of creating Project Porch started all the way back at five years old, when my teacher sent me home with a handful of pumpkins seeds. I planted them with my Nonna and watched with care as the vines quickly took over her backyard. Witnessing that before and after sparked my "do it yourself" attitude, and I've been hooked on transforming things, pumpkins and everything fall ever since.

 

That love has followed me through my whole life. After years of making my friends and family go over the top with decorations for all the holidays and celebrations, especially Halloween, I realized that decorating was something I had a passion for. When it came time for college I decided to pursue my other creative love, dance, earning my Bachelor in Fine Arts degree from WMU. I spent years teaching competitive dance and choreographing, work I still do part-time. But I never stopped dabbling with my lifelong passion of decor and design. So when my husband and I bought a 1960s fixer-upper in Farmington Hills, Michigan, I took a break from teaching and poured that creative energy into transforming our home. I learned as I went and shared the entire journey online. That's how Project Probst was born. A place I documented budget-friendly DIY, home design, and everything in between. With tens of thousands currently following along across Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook, I am grateful to have created an online community to connect with and share my projects day in and day out.

 

Getting to showcase my love of all things home and decor naturally helped grow my desire to create full seasonal takeovers of our porch, yard, and garden each fall and beyond. Creating displays for myself and anyone that asked over these last few years had me wanting even more. I have dreamed of bringing that same joy to other people's homes, but between raising two daughters, on-going home renovations, content creation and teaching dance, the timing was never quite right. After quietly planning a business that combines all of my passions into one, I'm finally able to bring Project Porch to life.

 

Project Porch is a one-woman operation, (with a little muscle help from my husband on our bulk pumpkin runs). I hand-select every pumpkin myself, right at the farm, then bring them home to clean and prep. I source and store the seasonal decor available to rent, and load it all up to bring straight to your door. From there, I use the same creative eye I've spent years building online and in the dance studio to design a display made for your space. One that welcomes your guests and makes your house feel like home.
